Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, observed Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the Environment Day pledge.
The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Prathiba V, setting the tone for the day's activities. The presidential address was given by Shri K. S. Vijayakumar, President of BoM, CVV, emphasizing the significance of environmental conservation.
The Chief Guest Shri M. Anil Kumar, Honorable Mayor addressed the gathering, inspiring everyone with insights on ecological responsibility and encouraging eco-conscious behavior. This was followed by distribution of eco badges to all the students. A skit based on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution” was performed by the students. A Bulletin Board Competition was organized to encourage mass participation and spread awareness on environmental issues and a PowerPoint presentation showcased the Eco initiatives undertaken by the Vidyalaya during the academic year 2024–25. A banyan sapling was planted by the Mayor along with the accompaniment of the singing of ‘Oru thai nadaam’, famed poet Sugathakumari’s verses. A cycle rally was flagged off promoting eco-friendly transportation.
World Environment Day was celebrated in the KG section with a special assembly. KG Coordinator spoke about the 4Rs(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover) and explained the theme "Say No to Plastic". Children took part in a fun envelope-making activity using used paper bags and also enjoyed planting a money plant.
